8.7.08 - Hey, just wanted to give a little update to everyone. As you probably know, we will be releasing Static Radio's debut Full Length "An Evening of Bad Decisions" on Sept. 9th. The band will be hitting the road hard in the US for the months of September and October and for the holiday season, the guys are planning an ambitious six week trek throughout mainland Europe and the UK. This means there's no excuse not to get out and see the guys play the new songs which are nothing short of amazing in my unbiased opinion. What you may not know (and we are proud to announce) is that Black Numbers Music is now distributed exclusively in North America by the Lumberjack Mordam Music Group. Physical CD sales are an important if endangered part of being in a band and running a label, and we are happy to be working with people who are as committed to music as we are. Please support mom and pop record stores by picking up the new Static Radio, and if you local store happens to not carry it, please ask them to (it's ok, that's how it works.) In other news, we will be stoked to announce a new release just as soon as someone gets off his ass and picks a name for his project. More to come...

4.7.08 - Just a little update on Static Radio. Yesterday, Vic called to let me know that the engine to the van had exploded (figuratively speaking) and that half the band was stuck in Utah with a worthless van, while the other half was still in New Jersey, waiting to get on a plane to meet up for the tour. After finding out that the van needed about two thousand dollars worth of work (made even worse by the fact that Vic is a mechanic and if it had happened near NJ he'd be able to fix it for free), the guys were faced with the reality of needing a van rental for the rest of tour to the tune of another grand. This, after spending seventeen hundred dollars for gas and plane tickets to travel three thousand miles to California to play SEVEN dates with the Bouncing Souls. Better bands, maybe. More dedicated, no.

03.07.2008 - So, long time no talk. Static Radio will be releasing their long awaited full length this summer via Black Numbers. They’ve also announced an early April string of dates out west with the Bouncing Souls, check those out in the Tours section. As a lil incentive to come hang with the SR, we are gonna give away exclusive content including a new song or two off the new record to fans who make it to the shows with the Souls. Come support and be one of the first to check the new stuff out. Who said blondes have all the fun?

11.16.07 - Updates! So, Static Radio NJ is back from two weeks in Europe, which apparently ruled, and a couple nights at the Fest in Gainesville which according to the pix-messages of Little Mike holding a beer and smoking a cigarette was equally thrilling. They are gonna take a bit of time off to do some soul-searching regarding their ever-important full length.
In other equally stellar news, we are super stoked to announce that we will be working with Copper Lung Records and Get Outta Town Records to release the vinyl version of Carry the Torch: A Tribute to Kid Dynamite. Static Radio NJ will be contributing a cover of Give 'Em the Ripped One, which is ironic because all the reviews of "One for the Good Guys" established that Static Radio doesn't sound like any band in the history of bands, and that if there was one band whose sound Static Radio was least like, it'd clearly be Kid Dynamite. KD was one of the most important hardcore bands to have existed, and the lineup of bands covering Kid Dynamite songs is amazing. Check back for more on that, and check out the bands and the songs they are covering below.

09.01.2007 - So after mountains of work getting this thing off the gound, we’ve officially got some records out! The reviews for all three have been pretty good; Punknews.org had particularly nice things to say about the Static Radio NJ (link) and Purpose (link) records. If you are in tune to the fact that Europeans have it together in terms of food, art, and pretty much everything else, it might be worth seeing what the people at AsIce.net in Holland had to say about Rock, star (link) and Static Radio NJ (link). Or, if you want to keep it Jersey (and by Jersey I mean slightly outside Jersey), Wonka Vision said some things about SRNJ (link), Jersey Beat gave Rock, star the treatment (link), and Pulse has got all three records for you (link). If at that point your interest is piqued, we do have a store, so buy a copy or seven so we can put the kids through school.

07.29.2007 - I’m too tired to think of anything grandiose or creative for a first news entry. We have three records coming out Aug 7th. Get into it. Poke around on here, find out a bit about what we have going on, and then tell me why it’s not good enough. - Phil B. |
